International Cultural Service Program (ICSP)
This program provides partial tuition scholarships to about 30 qualified international
students each year. In return for the scholarship assistance, ICSP students
agree to perform 80 hours of cultural service each academic year. This service
generally takes the form of presentations to school and community groups. PSU
applicants are required to have at least sophomore standing, and to have successfully
completed at least two terms of regular (non-ESL) coursework at a college or
university in the U.S. Several factors are considered in the application process,
which includes a written application, review of references and transcripts,
and a personal interview. Both graduate and undergraduate students may participate
in ICSP, receiving the scholarships until they complete their programs. Applications
are accepted on a rolling (continuous) basis. Students whose completed applications
are received by the midpoint of fall and winter terms will be considered for
openings in the program the following term. Because ICSP does not operate in
the summer, applications received late in spring term and during the summer
months are considered during fall term for winter vacancies. For more information
or to have an application mailed to you, please contact the Office of International
Student and Scholar Services at 503-725-4094, by email at lutherc@pdx.edu,
or via the ICSP website.
